THE FOUNDER
Nick Clunes
Nick is the founder of Clunes. He also founded Andorra Private, a North Sydney commercial finance house, and Your Lending Friend, a consumer finance brokerage. Across the three houses, his team works with more than sixty bank and non-bank lenders.
Nick built Clunes because Australian rural operators with $2m–$30m of debt are too complex for branch banking and too small for a private bank — and the broker market has, until now, been split between enterprise rural agencies and single-broker shopfronts. Clunes is a third option: a finance house with the breadth of a city brokerage and the discipline of a country one.
The Clunes name is genuine. It is Nick’s surname, and it is two real Australian places — a goldfields town in central Victoria, and an agricultural district in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales.
